Three Injured in Chattanooga Bus Accident

A car that collided with a CARTA bus in Chattanooga recently left three people with injuries, including the car’s driver, according to a recent article posted by Nooga Media.
Chattanooga police believe the car’s driver, a 26-year-old woman, caused the accident by failing to yield the right-of-way at the intersection for 41st Street and Dodds Avenue. Although traffic laws require the car driver to stop, she pulled out into the intersection anyway, believing that she had enough time to get in front of the oncoming bus, which was not required to stop. Instead, her car struck the side of the bus near its tail-end.
Two bus passengers were taken to area hospitals with injuries, but hospitals have not yet reported on the passengers’ conditions. The driver of the car originally left the scene on foot, but was brought back by police officers some time later. She also suffered injuries in the Chattanooga bus crash. Both the bus passengers and the car’s driver are expected to recover from their injuries.
In a collision between a car and a bus, the car’s driver is automatically at a disadvantage due to the larger size and weight of the bus, which can cause serious damage to both a passenger car and its occupants. However, bus passengers can also be injured in a crash, regardless of the accident’s cause, and these injuries can also be severe.
