CHATTANOOGA, TN, Sep 27 – Tennessee personal injury lawyer, Danny Ellis, of the law firm Massey & Associates PC, secured a favorable jury verdict in a challenging motor vehicle accident case (Docket Number: 11C1117), which was heard in Hamilton County Circuit Court.
Mr. Ellis’ client, who was just 17 years old and a high school athlete at the time of the accident, was awarded $18,000 for pain and suffering and loss of enjoyment of life as just compensation for injuries he sustained in the September 2010 car accident.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 58 and Hal Drive in Hamilton County when the defendant’s car, driving north on Highway 58, ran the red light and struck the rear door of the vehicle where the 17-year-old was a back seat passenger. Mr. Ellis’ client required immediate medical attention and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
“The negligent driver’s insurance company, Grange Insurance, initially offered to settle for $10,700,” said Mr. Ellis. “It’s rewarding to know that by not accepting the insurance company’s offer and taking this case to the jury, my client will receive substantially more compensation for his injuries.”
